Peter Pan felt ornament

It's been over a year since I made a felt ornament.  I am overdue to start them again.  They are so cute and easy.  And it always feels good to start and finish a project in a day.
I started with a triangle of felt.
Cut it to look like Peter's hat, and repeat for the back side.

Next step was cutting the feather.  I started with a red rectangle, cut a large stem so I could weave it into the hat, and then created the rest of the feather.

To create fullness I stuff my felt ornaments with quilt batting.  Cut it to the shape of your largest piece and off to the next step we go.
I always have some batting left over from my projects.  Never can really throw anything away.  So this time it comes in handy.

I cut two small holes in one side to weave in the feather and pinned it together.

Stitch around the edges, I used a blanket stitch, and you are done!  Might add some indentation threads too add a bit more depth to the piece.  But that my friends is for another day.
Now off to Neverland with you!
